FROM EXPRESSWAY 77 After exiting Expressway 77 and turning onto Highway 100, (to South Padre Island, Port Isabel and Los Fresnos) you will drive approximately 7 miles until you reach Los Fresnos. There is only one traffic light within the city limits of Los Fresnos. That light is at the intersection of Highway 100 and Farm Road 1847. At that corner you will see Wells Fargo Bank's ATM and an Exxon station on the left side of the street. Turn left at that intersection and head north. Stay on Farm Road 1847 for approximately 4 miles until you reach another intersection with a red flashing light. That will be Farm Road 510. Turn to the right heading east for approximately 2 miles. You will see a yellow flashing light at the junction of Farm Road 510 and Farm Road 3069 but DO NOT turn there. Stay on Farm Road 510 for one tenth of a mile further and on the right side of the road, you will see an asphalt or black top driveway bearing a street sign that reads: Smith Ranch ROAD and a sign that reads: Smith Ranch KENNELS. You will not be able to see the kennel from the road but come on down the driveway (approximately 700 feet) and someone will come out to meet you. Los Fresnos is VERY STRICT regarding their speed limit SO BEWARE. Our phone number is 956-233-5553 in case you need help finding us. DIRECTIONS FROM Smith Ranch Kennels TO SOUTH PADRE ISLAND To continue on to South Padre Island from Smith Ranch Kennels, turn right out of the driveway staying on Farm Road 510 for approximately 10 miles. (After passing a new golf course, you will go through a small community called Laguna Vista.) As you are leaving that community, Farm Road 510 merges with Highway 100. Turn left and stay on Highway 100, which will take you across the causeway right on to South Padre Island. Again, watch your speed in Laguna Vista and Port Isabel. They strictly enforce their speed limits. DIRECTIONS TO Smith Ranch Kennels FROM SOUTH PADRE ISLAND When coming from South Padre Island, stay on Highway 100 until you reach Farm Road 510, where you will exit to the right into the town of Laguna Vista. Stay on Farm Road 510 for 8 miles. You'll come to a 4-way stop in a community called Bayview. Stay on Farm Road 510 for 2 more miles and we're on the left side of the road. Come all the way down the driveway and someone will come out to meet you. Note: If you go under the flashing yellow light, you have gone about 400 feet too far. DIRECTIONS TO Smith Ranch Kennels FROM BROWNSVILLE VIA PAREDES LINE ROAD Take Paredes Line Road (Farm Road 1847) north to Los Fresnos. At the traffic light at the intersection of Hwy 100 in Los Fresnos, continue on Farm Road 1847 for 4 more miles until you reach Farm Road 510. Turn right there and continue on for 2.1 miles. When you reach a flashing yellow light, slow down but DO NOT turn there. You will turn right at the next paved road to the right. Look for our sign: Smith Ranch Kennels and our street sign: Smith Ranch ROAD. |
